Sparkly Fame and Fortune + Nail Max X-mas
Here's Color Club Fame and Fortune layered over two coats of a holo franken that I did ages ago. The franken is sort of sheer so the Color Club really deepens the pink. The large flecks of glitter plus the small holo glitter looks great in real life, but sort of dull in picture. My camera can't capture sparkliness. Had this on my nails for a few days. When I first saw Fame and Fortune I thought I wouldn't get much use out of it, but I am loving this combo and will probably like it layered over other polishes too.
-----
Was browsing through the December issue of Nail Max and decided to try out a few of their Christmas designs. I wasn't ready to take off glitter yet so I did them on nail wheel.
Here are a couple that I did. Christmas-y, but not CHRISTMAS-Y. And super easy. Except for the words. I think Konad has a nail stamp image for the words 'Merry Christmas', but I'm not sure which plate at the moment. I don't have it so I can't use it. I used a silver polish for the words, but I think I might need to pick up some metallic acrylic paint that I saw at the Dollarama. It would be easier to use when writing out words. I did a few more so I show them in another post.

Nails During Christmas

Long time no blog. Hard to get back into the blogging mood when you've taken a break for a while. Anyway, this is what I had on my nails for most of the Christmas holidays. Two images from two different cameras. Wasn't really happy with any of the photos, but I also wasn't too pleased with the mani, but I lived with it. Sally Hansen Xtreme wear - Flirt as the base and a frankened gold for the stamping colour. The stamping plate that I used was from my Beauties Factory haul, HB35.
Sorries for the dirty looking plate. This plate has a bunch of ornaments and stuff that was good for Christmas manis. The large image is good for long nails, but it's not really that wide. Well, not wide enough for my thumb anyway. For my thumb I should have just randomly placed the individual images to fill up the space, but I was probably too lazy to do so.
I've got a few other things to post up so, expect a bunch of posts coming up.

Plaidesque Christmas

Did this yesterday for a holiday party tonight with some girlfriends. Thought that I would try out a plaid pattern on my nails and this is the result. It's alright, but kinda busy. I think I should have just done an accent nail with the plaid. Used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Whirlwind White with Revlon - Powder Puff over top as the base. Green stripes were done with Color Club - Rule Breaker and the red stripes were done with Wet N Wild Color Icon - Hypnotic Red. Red, green and gold striping tape were used to finish it off. This time I trimmed the striping tape just short of the edge of my nail so that I don't have the ends flicking up like the last time I used striping tape.

Christmas Striping

Christmas-y, but not too Christmas-y. Four coats Revlon - 008 Powder Puff as the base with green and red striping tape. Powder Puff is a matte suede, but I had to put on a top coat to keep the striping tape down. However the ends of the tape still flicked up. It's more the clear plastic top of the tape I guess. Not sure. If there's three parts to the tape - glue, colour, top - then at the ends the top part sometimes separates from the rest. You can sort of see it in the pics. Also for some reason when I put on my top coat the green faded a bit. Strange. As for Powder Puff, I just got a couple of days ago, it's alright. I like that it's not a bright white, but 4 coats is a bit of a bummer.

Easy Holiday Wheel Two
More easy to do nail art. I have too much time on my hands. Favourites = sparkly Christmas tree and Santa jacket. Least favourite = red and gold ornament, green glitter with golden ornament and the gingerbread man head.

Easy Holiday/Party Nails
Nail wheel featuring some pretty easy nail art. Wanted to try out some designs to see how they look. Dunno if I'm gonna use any of them for a full mani.
