Early Christmas Pressie

On Sunday I exchanged Christmas gifts with my friends and naturally we opened up our gifts right away and this jar of polishes was given to me from my friend J. Lots of goodies inside. I will slowly go through them and use 'em each for a manicure. I've already used two polishes, see below.

One coat of Revlon - Cherries in the Snow with Nicole by OPI - Spark My Mistletoe layered over top. Quick and easy holiday mani. Can't go wrong with red for the holidays.

Plaidesque Christmas

Did this yesterday for a holiday party tonight with some girlfriends. Thought that I would try out a plaid pattern on my nails and this is the result. It's alright, but kinda busy. I think I should have just done an accent nail with the plaid. Used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Whirlwind White with Revlon - Powder Puff over top as the base. Green stripes were done with Color Club - Rule Breaker and the red stripes were done with Wet N Wild Color Icon - Hypnotic Red. Red, green and gold striping tape were used to finish it off. This time I trimmed the striping tape just short of the edge of my nail so that I don't have the ends flicking up like the last time I used striping tape.

Christmas Striping

Christmas-y, but not too Christmas-y. Four coats Revlon - 008 Powder Puff as the base with green and red striping tape. Powder Puff is a matte suede, but I had to put on a top coat to keep the striping tape down. However the ends of the tape still flicked up. It's more the clear plastic top of the tape I guess. Not sure. If there's three parts to the tape - glue, colour, top - then at the ends the top part sometimes separates from the rest. You can sort of see it in the pics. Also for some reason when I put on my top coat the green faded a bit. Strange. As for Powder Puff, I just got a couple of days ago, it's alright. I like that it's not a bright white, but 4 coats is a bit of a bummer.
